Bio

Hello!  I have lived in Cleveland and Bradley County for over 20 years.  I am honored to be the School Counselor at Park View Elementary!  I started at Park View when it opened in 2009.  I am married to Derek Nelson.  Together we have three children, Alyson and Corbin Nelson and Thomas "Trey" Lillard.

I have a diverse background.  I grew up in Polk County, graduating from Polk County High School in 1990.  All my professional experience has been working with students in some capacity.  I have worked with students involved in the court system, students who need help figuring out what they want to be when they grow up, and finally students who are facing difficult situations in school.  I can truly say I love my job and feel so blessed to be able to serve at Park View.  I try to meet the needs of both students and families.  If you have a need, whether it be for school supplies, shoes, coats, food, or counseling and mental health please feel free to contact me.  If I can't help you directly, I will point you in the right direction.  Some of our school partners that help provide needed services include Bowater Employees Credit Union, The Caring Place, Centerstone, Camelot Care Center, Lee University Play Therapy, Scottish Rite, and Helping Paws.

I have set up a Parent Resource Center in the library.  There are numerous resources there for you to check out.  Topics include ADHD, parenting, and nutrition to name a few.

My family attends Living Water Community Church here in Cleveland.  I my spare time, I love to read, spend time with family, shop, and cook.
